1. Introduction

Welcome to Prayer Time (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

The App requests access to your device’s precise GPS location (using the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions).

Purpose:

To automatically determine your geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude)
To calculate accurate Islamic prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) for your current location
To determine the Qibla (direction of the Kaaba in Mecca) using your device’s compass and location

How it is used:

Location data is processed entirely on your device
Your location coordinates are never transmitted to any external server
Your location coordinates are never stored permanently — they are used in real-time only for calculation and are discarded when the app is closed or when you navigate away
You may choose to manually enter a city/location instead of using GPS at any time via the Settings screen

Location Modes:

Live GPS (Automatic): App uses your real-time GPS coordinates for prayer time calculation
Manual Location: You select your city from a list — no GPS access is required in this mode

2.2 Network / Internet Access

The App requests the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions.

Purpose:

To check whether your device is online or offline
The App works fully offline — all prayer time calculations are performed locally using the Adhan algorithm with no internet connection required
Internet access is requested only to check connectivity status, not to send or receive any personal data

We do not connect to any external API or server for prayer time data. All calculations are done locally on your device.

2.3 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device using Android’s local storage (AsyncStorage):

This data is:

Stored only on your device
Never uploaded to any server, cloud, or third party
Deleted when you uninstall the App

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be fully transparent. The Prayer Time App does NOT collect:

❌ Your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information
❌ Your device’s IMEI, MAC address, or unique hardware identifiers
❌ Your contacts, messages, photos, or files
❌ Your browsing history or activity outside the App
❌ Crash logs or analytics data sent to any server
❌ Advertising identifiers (no ads are shown in the App)
❌ Financial or payment information (the App is free with no in-app purchases)
❌ Audio, camera, or microphone data

4. Third-Party Services

The Prayer Time App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Specifically:

❌ No Firebase Analytics
❌ No Facebook SDK
❌ No AdMob or any advertising network
❌ No crash reporting tools (e.g., Sentry, Crashlytics)

The App uses the following open-source libraries that operate entirely on-device:

None of these libraries transmit any data externally.

5. Permissions Explained

`ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION`	Fallback for approximate location if precise GPS is unavailable
`INTERNET`	To check network connectivity status (no personal data is sent)
`ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`	To detect whether device is online or offline

You can deny location permission at any time. If you deny it, the App will prompt you to select your city manually. All prayer time features remain available in manual mode.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Prayer Time App is suitable for users of all ages, including children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). Since the App does not collect any personal information from any user, there is no risk of collecting children’s data.

7. Data Security

Since the Prayer Time App does not collect or transmit any personal data, there is no data stored on external servers that could be breached. All settings are stored locally on your device and are protected by your device’s own security mechanisms (e.g., screen lock, device encryption).

We recommend:

Keeping your device’s operating system updated
Using a screen lock to protect your device

8. Data Retention

The App stores user preferences locally on your device only. This data is retained as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.

We do not retain any data on our servers because we do not collect any.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our end. However, you have the following rights within the App:

Right to reset: You can clear all app preferences by clearing the App’s data in your device Settings → Apps → Prayer Time → Clear Data
Right to opt out of location: You can deny or revoke location permission at any time via your device Settings → Apps → Prayer Time → Permissions
Right to use manual mode: You can switch to manual city selection at any time in the App’s Settings screen without using GPS

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App and the updated date will be reflected at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
